Shadestorm Campaign

Greetings!

I have already documented two Firestorm campaigns and a bunch of narrative ones here at ExtraBushyBeards, but now it is time to delve into Shadestorm! Despite the storm-y name, this one is not played using the Firestorm campaign pack; instead, we use the Map Campaign Lite ruleset I translated from WFB to AoS.

The war takes place on the Kolkfjara Coast somewhere in the Realm of Ulgu (hence the campaign name) and has five contending factions: three from Grand Alliance Order, one from Death and one from Chaos. The rules for the campaign can be found here.

Heroes in this campaign will be named and personalized, earning rewards and titles for feats on the battlefield. Should they die, however, they are gone for good. An example of Hero reward generation can be found here.

May the best faction win!

Hostilities commence as the factions inhabiting the Kolkfjara Coast vie for domination of the region. Lumber camps, recruiting stations and smithies work day and night as the contenders prepare their armies for war.

The Ulgumgi inhabit the settlement of Grenmarr on an island to the north. Their part-time warrior hirds control the town of Skagi and keep a careful eye on the traffic passing through the Eslodge Trail and Oakbridge.
Domains: Town, Road, Bridge

The Aelves of Elleth Anar to the east keep their northern neighbours in check by vigorously patrolling Via Anaria, the well-maintained road that most trading traffic on the coast relies on. Their disciplined militia phalanxes also garrison the town of O'Thalas and keep a high-yielding tollhouse on The Lone Viaduct.
Domains: Road, Town, Bridge

The Beastmen of Chaos prowl the ruins of the once-proud city of Fuvas, having razed it to the ground and sacrificed its populace to their foul gods. From there the beasts of Chaos control the Titan's Gorge, one of the only two mountain passes that lead to Kolkfjara Coast from the mainland, as well as the vital eastern Fuvasian Trail junction. Trade in this area has dwindled since the Chaos invasion, and recently even the town of Brana fell under the onslaught.
Domains: Mountain Pass, Road, Town

The Forces of Anvilgard hold sway in the prospering city of Qury to the southwest. Located near the Mannfall Mountains, this area has proven to be very rich in wild monsters that the Anvilgardians hunt and tame for their own purposes. Their well-trained battalions patrol the sprawling Wundt's Wood and the single road that cuts through the dark forest, and a permanent garrison has been placed in the ancient Shrine of Cycenar deep in the woods.
Domains: Mountains, Forest, Shrine

The Legions of Undead reside in the ruins of Lislow, a city no mortal can even remember at the height of its power many centuries past. Their cold touch extends over the nearby town of Kolsted and the architecturally impressive bridge at Eslodge Crossing, but recent rumours suggest that the Dorhurst Pass might also have fallen under their fell influence.
Domains: Town, Bridge, Mountain Pass
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Ulgumgi commence hostilities as one of their hirds moves out to raid across the Eslodge Crossing, defeating the skeleton legions of the local Vampire Lord and pushing into the mainland. The hird eventually returns to their island carrying cartloads of loot.
