This warband belongs to kuqry, one of the partaking players in our current Streets of Oldentown campaign. Check out more of his truly amazing work on his Instagram account!
Franken Plagueclaw was the youngest of his 17 siblings. Little Franken soon discovered though that he was unlike the other Skaven. Killing, maiming and scheming didn’t interest him, nor did he hear the Great Horned Rat’s calling or displayed a craving for Warpstone. One day on a routine raid of a nearby human settlement he found a curious old book in the clutches of a dead child. The book depicted wondrous tales in a faraway land, of just warriors who defended the poor and downtrodden, armed with sharp rapiers and sharper wits and dressed in elegant hats adorned with feathers. He began to dream of a different life, one dedicated to justice and fashionable attires. Against all odds he found a few likeminded young Skaven and in the cover of a late august night they left the hive city.
Now he’s known as Duc Francois Brightclaw, swordsman extraordinaire and the self-appointed ruler of the Duchy of Rat'aTouillé. His companions are known as the Merry Muskrateers and together they fight for justice and enjoy the finer thinks in life, especially good wine and cheese. Rat'aTouillé. doesn't actually exist yet, but it is the dream of these brave rats to one day raise enough coin to purchase few acres of land and a wineyard and settle down for good. Until then they are knights for hire for the highest bidder – as long as the cause is just!
At the moment the Merry Muskrateers have found themselves in the city of Puffington where they have been hired to clean the streets of Oldentown from undesired elements. The job seemed straightforward enough and the pay was good, but soon enough Francois found himself tangled up in the city's messy politics. It seems sweeping the streets is not going to be enough, they might just have to go all the way to the top...
The brave Swashbucklers!
Snitch was one of the first Skaven warriors to take an interest in Francois' ideas. Skilled with a blade to begin with, he was instantly mesmerized by the swashbuckling hero of the book. Inspired by the hero's exploits, he started calling himself D'Ratagnan. He recruited few of his fellow fighters, who in turn took suitable noble new names: the cunning twins Alexander and Pierre, Marceau the hothead who gets into barfights more often than actualu swordfights, and finally the daydreaming Lucien who'd rather be a bard than a fighter.
